Suggested cemetery walk

Start at the entrance that suits your journey. This sequence connects the selected landmarks:

  1. Main entrance: Main entrance to the grounds.
  2. South-eastern pedestrian entrance: Pedestrian entrance on the south-eastern side of the cemetery; the passage is designated wheelchair-accessible.
  3. Toilet near the main entrance: Toilet building north of the main entrance; free of charge.
  4. Memorial plaque to those who died in the final days of the war in 1945: The name follows the inscription.
  5. Second World War graves: Dedicated memorial section within the cemetery.
  6. Am Heidefriedhof stop near the entrance: Bus stop west of the main entrance.
  7. Public parking near Heidefriedhof: Free public parking west of the cemetery; it is not a designated cemetery car park.

Respectful visiting

Remain on permitted paths, give funeral ceremonies space and do not photograph people or private acts of remembrance without consent.

Allow for time and distance

The route is not signposted and has no binding distance. Compare it with the cemetery map, allow breaks on larger grounds and return to the exit well before closing.
